What is Additive Free Friday all about?
It is an initiative that allows for everyone worldwide 52 attempts per year at trying, buying, preparing, cooking, eating and enjoying additive free foods.
Who can get involved?
Everyone! ...Family households, cafes, restaurants, childcare centres, canteens, hostels, pubs, clubs, catering services, hotels, nursing homes, hospitals, sporting groups, shopping centres and more can all make simple changes to provide their consumers with foods that are completely free from harmful food additives.
What do I have to do?
Take action. This can be done on a small or large scale. Host a dinner party, provide your school canteen with recipe ideas, suggest your favourite cafe/restaurant/pub pop something new and daring on their menu or make an additive free meal on any given Friday...or EVERY Friday for that matter. Simple mindful choices can change the way the world thinks, consumes and appreciates good quality food. Make conscience choices when purchasing groceries or when dinning out. It can be as simple as making dinner together with your children, while teaching them about the benefits of eating foods free of chemicals and why their bodies will respond so much better to the foods you are preparing.
Canteens, Cafes and the like are welcome to offer an additive free option to their menu. Meal deals are the way to go. Everyone loves a meal deal!!! So EVERY Friday “IS” just that...Additive Free!!
How do I know what food is additive free or not?
There are so many additives on the market now in Australia that it can seem a little overwhelming. Eliminating food additives is not as hard as it first seems when you have all of the information that is now available.
